Saturday, March 18, 2017 – Peterborough – Several members of the Peterborough Motor Sports Club were recognized Saturday for their success in the 2016 regional car rally series.
The navigational rally team of navigator Louis Cabardos and driver Alain Cabardos of Hastings, received first place plaques at the Rally Sport Ontario Annual General Meeting held at Bakers Hill Banquet Centre. The father and son combo won the expert class in the eight event regional Ontario Road Rally Championship (ORRC) series.
Taking the top driver in the novice class was PMSC’s
Chris Johnson and his navigator Brandon Pace of the Kitchener-
Waterloo Rally Club. Both Johnson and Pace have moved into the expert class for the 2017 season.
Third novice navigator was Jessica Auchterlonie of PMSC and her driver teammate, Jason Crandall of the Maple Leaf Rally Club.
On the performance rally side, PMSC member Phillipe Benoit of Montreal finished as first driver in the two-wheel drive class in the Ontario Performance Rally Championship (OPRC).
The next Rally Sport Ontario events are the Spring Run Off Rally navigational event, April 29th, starting and finishing in Cobourg. It is the fourth event in the 2017 ORRC series and hosted by PMSC.
The next event in the OPRC series is the Lanark Highlands Forest Rally held in Mississipi Mills, near Perth, Ontario on May 6th.
