  1. CALL TO ORDER

President Dan  7:05pm

  1. ROLL CALL

Members Present: Dan, Travis, Len, Pete G., Peter W., Brian, Rob and Deb.

Guests:  Kevin & Ethan from Bracebridge.

Keven and Ethan are motocross racers but witnessed Rally Cross at Burnt River and wanted to know more! Both will be joining PMSC.

  • Approval of minutes of last meeting. Approved
  • Approval of Agenda: Approved
  • OPEN ISSUES
    • Amendments to the PMSC Constitution:
      1. Previously moved by Len, Seconded by Pete Gulliver.
        • Discussion: Len outlined the background to the changes which included several “housekeeping” items but the main amendment was the addition of “Rally Cross” And “Rally Sprint” to the club competition calendar, points calculations and awards in various sections of the Constitution and By-Laws.

APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY  8-0

Len stated the updated document will be posted online within a day or two.

  • 2019 Competition Calendar
    1. Rally Cross #1, April 20, 2019.
      • Pete updated the club on the 5 Rally Cross events at Burnt River .
    2. Spring Run Off Rally, an ORRC event, April 27
      • Start and finish at ESSO Service Centre, Exit 646, Hwy 28, Port Hope
      • 200 Km.
      • Registration opens 09:30. Car “0” 11:00
  • Street Car Challenge – Nothing new from Rich who was not able to attend.
    • Dan elaborated on the addition of a sponsored award suggested by Rich for this proposed Auto Cross series.
  • Rally Cross Update
    1. Pete G. Reported 25 entries as of that morning…However two entries withdrew.
    2. Entries for the June event have already been received with a cutoff at 25.
  • Special timing gear created for RX is still in the works but should be ready soon.
  1. RSO VP Darin Mayes will be on site to assist.
  2. Nine marshals are signed up but two more would be nice to have.
  • Travis Reports:
    1. New Autocross wireless timing equipment has been purchased ($2,000)
    2. The first Autocross of the season will be May 5th at Kawartha Downs.
  • RSO AGM Report
    1. Pete Gulliver Reporting: The 2018 Annual General Meeting of Rally Sport Ontario was March 16th at Bakers Hill.
      • New RSO Officers: Warren Heywood, President. Alan Ockwell VP-Performance Rally. Darin Mayes VP-TSD, Kelly Mathews Secretary, Dave Maynard Treasurer.
      • RSO lost $3400 in 2018. Mainly on Performance Rallies.
  • Go-Kart Nights at Indian River
    1. President Dan received a message from Doug Armstrong wondering if anyone was organizing one or two track nights this summer.
      • Dan will pursue the idea with Doug.

 

  • NEW BUSINESS
    1. Peter Watt attended an MLRC monthly meeting Tuesday in Richmond Hill.
      • 13 people in attendance.
      • Tall Pines Rally broke even financially only because of the sponsorship by Lincoln Electric.
      • Guest Speaker was Christina Kroner who was Ian Crerar’s co-driver at the Monte Carlo Rally.
      • Peter reported their meeting location is not very suitable.
        • Pool Tables, Band, Combative Patrons.
  1. Several members related stories about long time PMSC member Peter Watson who passed away a week ago. A number of our members offered condolences in person to his wife Lois and family members at a visitation and/or memorial service on March 22nd.
